Problems with Racism

Palmeiras played this week against Atletico Paranaense for Copa Do Brasil at Palestra Italia. Palmeiras won one to zero with a goal scored by Robert in the first half. In a corner for Atletico Paranaense Manoel who is the tems defender headbutted Danilo who is Palmeiras defender. Danilo got really mad and called Manoel a monkey due to his skin color. Later on Danilo spat on Manoel. Paulo Baier was sent of due to a foul in Danilo and when he was injured on the floor Manoel stepped on him. At the end of the game Atletico Paranaense wanted to put Danilo in jail due to his racist act on the field. Danilo recently apoligized to his team mated and especially to Manoel. ``Both of us are professionals and I didnt want to be racist. I was just really mad and it came out. I will never do it again. As a human I have the right to make mistakes and I apologize but I would like to hear it from Manoel. ´´Said Danilo. Danilo went to the police station in his own will to talk to a police officer of the case. He said that he didnt want to be racist and that he will never do it agian. Danilo and Manoel wont be able to play for a few games and Danilo will have to pay a large quantity of money. Both players did something that was unacceptable and they will have to deal with the consequences.

A Terrible Match

Palmeiras tied zero to zero at Palestra Italia against Oeste. Palmeiras hevent been showing very good performances in these last matches and the fans are getting tired with the present situation. When Palmeiras doesnt show a vey good performance the fans start to play against the club putting a lot of pressure in the players especially on the best ones. Palmeiras played with their younger players due to the fact that the club is already out of the tournament so Antonio Carlos wants to show the fans that they will have brilliant players in the future. He is also letting the starters to take a day of due to the fact that the club will be playing against Atletico Paranaense for Copa do Brasil. Palmeiras is know at the tenth place of the tournament and has one more game to end the campeonato Paulista 2010 against Paulista from Jundiaí. The field of Palestra Italia wasnt in good conditions due to the rain so it is really hard for a club like Palmeiras that has very fast strikers to play on wet grass. Palmeiras tied for the seventh time in the tournament and the club entered in a crisis. Campeonato Paulista has many easy games from teames that play in the second or even third division of the Brasileirão and Palmeiras still lost many easy matches and tied many easy games as well. Antonio Carlos Zago says that the club is leaving this crisis and will win many matches in the Brasileirão and will have a very good campaign at Copa do Brasil.

Is Taison coming?

Palmeiras is looking for some new players in corder to win the Copa do Brasil and later on have a good campaingn in the Brasileirão 2010. Palmeiras was interested in the striker Taison who is currently playing for Internacional from Porta Alegre. ``We are not selling Taison. Brazil´s clubs can´t afford to buy Taison´´says Piffero who is Internacionals president. Palmeiras said that they were very interested in the player and they will make a great deal in order to buy the player.Taison wants to leave his club due to the fact that he is know not playing in the starting team. Due to this fact he wants to leave his club and he wants to play in Sao Paulo. Jorge Fozzati who is Internacional´s head coach says that it would be best for the player if he continued in his current club. ´´He is a very young player and he will receive many offers from different clubs´´says Jorge Fozzati. Palmeiras is looking for a descent striker for to long and still havent found one. The club hired Ewerthon who came from Spain and the club wasnt very impressed with his performances. Antonio Carlos who is Palmeiras coach says that he is hiring many players for further tournaments and he says that he will be able to make the team leave this crisis.

Palmeiras X Mirassol

This Saturday at 4:00 pm Palmeiras played against Mirassol at Palestra Italia. Antonio Carlos Zago was testing the younger players for two reasons. The first reason is that he wanted to show the fans that Palmeiras younger players were all very good and maybe many of them will have a future in the club. The second reason is that Antonio Carlos didn´t put the starters to play due to the fact that next week Palmeiras is playing agianst Paysandu for Copa do Brasil so he decided to give a bureak to the starters. Palmeiras received a penalty and started winning the match one to zero with an excellent penalty kick by Palmeiras striker Robert. Palmeiras as always relaxes after they score a goal so Mirassol obviously was attacking a lot to tie the match. During the second half Mirassol was able to tie the game due to the incompetence of Palmeiras defence. The game ended one to one and is know fighting to win Copa do Brasil to classify for the Copa Libertadores da America. Antonio Carlos at the end of the game said that his intention to put the younger players like Ivo, Anselmo, João, Gualberto, Gabriel Silva and, Vinicius was to show the importance of these young players in the squad that may become stars in the future.

Palmeiras X Paysandu

During this week Palmeiras traveled to Para to play againt Paysandu. Mangueirão that is Paysandu´s stadium was full and the stadiumis being elected to be one of the stadiums of the world cup i Brazil in 2014. Palmeiras had a player that was playing his first match for the club which is Lincoln. Lincoln already played in many clubes before like Schalke 04, Atletico Mineiro and, Galatasary. Palmeiras started th match with a lot of determination. Due to this determination Lincoln scored and Palmeiras was leading one to zero. Antonio Carlos Zago who is Palmeiras coach ordered the team to defend more which resuted in a goal for Paysandu. Palmeiras didnt have many starters because Antonio Carlos was trying many players that may be starters later on. The first half ended one to one and bothe teams went to the locker room to hear what the coaches had to say. The second half started and both team were playing terribly and nothing happened. Until Lenny headered the ball to Ewerton who scored his first goal for the club. The whole team celebrated with him. If Palmeiras scored agin that didnt have to play the second match at Palestra italia. Diego Souza headered to the area and Robert ended up missing a goal. The match ended two to one for Palmeiras and the team who was in crisis doent loose for three matches. Palmeiras is fighting and showing a lot of determination to please the fans and to fight against this crisis they were recently in.

Palmeiras Great Victory

March 14 at 5:00 pm Palmeiras played against the leader of the tournament Santos at Vila Belmiro. Santos started the match in a very high pace and succesfully scored two goals and began the match leading by two goals. Santos always make fun of the opponent through the celebration of their goals. Almost at the end of the first half Palmeiras tied the game and made fun of Santos celebrations. Palmeiras started the second half in a very high pace and ended up scoring a goal and leading the match for the first time. The game was three to two for Palmeiras and they were still playing in the same pace. Palmeiras had lots of players that were playing their first match for the club like the striker Everthon and the midfielder that just arrived from Europe Lincoln. Santos tied the game during the middle of the second half with a nice pass from Paulo Henrique Ganso to Madson who kicked at the corner of the goal. Palmerias still beleived that they could win the match. Neymar who is Santos striker that has only 17 years lod was sent of the game due to a terrible foul on Palmeiras defensive midfielder Pierre. The players from Santos were complaining a lot and obviously they were againt the referee decision. Palmeiras scored agin with Robet who kicked outside of Santos area into Santos goal. Later on Santos was pressing Palmeiras and Leo who is Palmeiras defender was sent of due to a foul over Madson. Both tems were playing with ten players and only a few minutes to end the match. Palmeiras won the match and celebrated a lot at the end and Palmeiras striker Robert who was criticized alot by the fans scored three goals in the match and was considered the hero of the match. Palmeiras who was in a very bad crisis won the leader of the tournament and still beleives that they can make it to the semi finals of the tournament.

Palmeiras game was canceled

Palmeiras was supposed to play this Saturday night against Sertãozinho at Palmeiras soccer stadium Palestra Italia. The game was canceled due to the rain and the game will be on this Monday at 9:00 pm at Arena Barueri. The reason that Palmeiras is not playing at Palestra Italia is because the rock band Guns N Roses will have a concert at palmeiras stadium. ``There is no condition to play in this field so we will have one more day of practice´´afirms Palmeiras coach Antonio Carlos Zago. Palmeiras practiced Sunday already at Barueri on a very sunny and hot day. Palmeiras hired a player called Bruno Paulo that came from Flamengo´s youth team and he hopes to do the best for his club. Palmeiras goalkeeper Mrcos was thinking in ending his career this year. He is Palmeiras starting goalkeeper since 1993 and he started his career for the club in 1992. He has now 37 years old and many people think he should continue because he represents the club very well. He already won a world cup for Brasil in 2002 when he received offers from Arsenal, Lyon, Real madrid and, Sevilla. He didn´t want to leave his club so he denied all the offers and is still Palmeiras captain and one of Palmeiras best players.
