Palmeiras X Mirassol

This Saturday at 4:00 pm Palmeiras played against Mirassol at Palestra Italia. Antonio Carlos Zago was testing the younger players for two reasons. The first reason is that he wanted to show the fans that Palmeiras younger players were all very good and maybe many of them will have a future in the club. The second reason is that Antonio Carlos didn´t put the starters to play due to the fact that next week Palmeiras is playing agianst Paysandu for Copa do Brasil so he decided to give a bureak to the starters. Palmeiras received a penalty and started winning the match one to zero with an excellent penalty kick by Palmeiras striker Robert. Palmeiras as always relaxes after they score a goal so Mirassol obviously was attacking a lot to tie the match. During the second half Mirassol was able to tie the game due to the incompetence of Palmeiras defence. The game ended one to one and is know fighting to win Copa do Brasil to classify for the Copa Libertadores da America. Antonio Carlos at the end of the game said that his intention to put the younger players like Ivo, Anselmo, João, Gualberto, Gabriel Silva and, Vinicius was to show the importance of these young players in the squad that may become stars in the future.
